Brexit is 'not going to happen' because the Government are 'hopeless', says Paddy Ashdown

Brexit is 'not going to happen', Lib Dem grandee Paddy Ashdown said last night.
The former party leader told activists the Government will not be able to deliver a hard or soft Brexit.
He accused the Government of being incapable of delivering "anything" and predicted there would be a "something quite close to a parliamentary stalemate" next spring.
Lord Ashdown, who was speaking at a fringe event at the Lib Dem conference in Bournemouth on Britain's Brexit options, said: "My view is that the dysfunctionality, the dystopian hopeless dysfunctionality of this government, they can't deliver anything - if you ask them to deliver the Sunday papers they couldn't do it, or at least they'd have a row about it.
