Since 2015, the Royal Society Publishing
Photography Competition has celebrated the power of photography to
capture science in its many forms, and the role these great images play
in making science accessible to a wide audience. Our judges looked at
hundreds of images submitted by scientists in 2018, choosing those that
best represent the goals of the competition, and we are delighted to
share these with you now.
Thanks to all those who submitted an entry and congratulations to all the finalists. In particular, we’d like to convey our congratulations to the overall winner, Petr Horálek, for his truly stunning photo of a solar eclipse with a rare “double-diamond”.
The competition runs again in 2019, so please check back here for more updates soon, and start snapping in anticipation of our return!
The Royal Society Publishing Photography Competition is sponsored by the journals of the Royal Society. Visit our journals homepage to view the full portfolio and read our published research.
