The divide between European leaders and Donald Trump on confronting climate change will get even wider today as the European Commission outlines its strategy to achieve zero emissions by 2050. While the initiative shows the bloc’s commitment to reducing pollution, the current trajectory for cutting emissions won’t be enough to meet goals under the 2015 Paris climate accord, which Trump abandoned. The updated strategy comes ahead of global climate talks next week in Poland.
