THE SEVEN DAYS OF JOSH MURRΑY ON KYTHIRA. DAY 2 ''MYLOPOTAMOS''

''..In light of my sleep deprived soiree, Mother Nature generously dispatched a slow and misty start to the day. I jumped in the car heading north east from Kapsali to the small town of Milapotamos, the birthplace of my Yai Ya and the Andronicus family. The town is a neatly packed disarray of mashed-up architecture, history’s crumbling past interspersed with more modern, simplified island building technique. Dry-stone archways with protruding beams of sculptured petrified timber now support electricity boxes and street signage. Beautiful points in time wait in hope for a love purchase to restore their former charm, but it feels like many of these places will remain consigned to oblivion.''
