''A new strategy
to bring Western Balkan countries into the European Union can be a
turning point in the history of the bloc, EU foreign policy chief
Federica Mogherini said Tuesday.
Speaking at the launch of the European Commission plan
in Strasbourg, Mogherini said progress toward membership for six
Western Balkan countries — Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo,
Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia — could in the coming months become

“The months ahead will be intense, will be ambitious, will
be — hopefully — months of a turning point that will be remembered in
the history, I believe, of the European Union,” Mogherini said.
“Let’s make it happen,” she said. “Let’s bring the Western
Balkans inside the European Union not in a faraway future but in our
generation.”
