George Osborne: We'll use euro crisis to boost British interests

 Για να δούμε τι θα λένε όταν τα παιδιά χορτάσουν από αίμα Ευρωζώνης και ΗΠΑ και στραφούν και σ' αυτούς. Τους περήφανους και εγωπαθείς ευρωσκεπτικιστές. Που απειλούν ότι θα μπλοκάρουν όποια συνθήκη τολμήσει να ξεμυτίσει από την Ευρωζώνη..Που επιχαίρουν μη συμμετέχοντας στην διάσωση της Ελλάδας. Και που παρ' όλα' αυτά θεωρούν την σταθερότητα του ΕΥΡΩ χρήσιμη για τα εθνικά τους συμφέροντα. Εδώ είναι η μάχη του μέλλοντός μας αγαπητοί φίλοι της αριστεράς και όχι στην επιβολή των επιθυμιών μας στους 17. Εδώ είναι ο διεθνισμός και ο σκληρός αγώνας κι όχι στην ηρεμία της απομόνωσης και της μοναχικής πορείας..

''The Chancellor uses an article in The Sunday Telegraph to make it clear that Britain will not be bullied by France and Germany into giving up its say in key areas such as regulation of financial services.

Mr Osborne says the survival and stability of the euro – now facing its worst problems since coming into being, in the wake of Greece's sovereign debt crisis – is "hugely in Britain's national interests".

However, describing himself as a "eurosceptic", he warns that last week's £140 billion rescue package for Greece put together by the 17 countries which make up the eurozone is bound to lead to more "fiscal integration" – closer links on tax and spending decisions – between them.

He adds that, as this process begins, "this Government will constantly be alert for opportunities to protect and advance our national interests..''
